The quick test for belt-in-oil timing belts
The BIO TOOL for reliable checking without belt removal

In modern engines with belt-in-oil (BIO) technology, the timing belt runs in an oil bath. This reduces friction, lowers CO2 emissions and ensures quieter operation. The drawback, however, is that low-grade oils can lead to premature wear of the belt. And up to now, it has been difficult to assess the belt’s condition simply by looking. Not anymore: the new BIO TOOL offers automotive professionals a quick, easy and reliable means of checking the timing belt with the belt still fitted.
This special tool works by measuring the belt width and comparing it against the limit value specified by the manufacturer. If the belt is too wide, it needs to be replaced. Workshops thereby gain valuable time – and added certainty when inspecting BIO timing belts. The BIO TOOL is specifically designed for use with engines from the Stellantis Group and covers a large number of models.
