The testing tool for belt-in-oil timing belts
In modern engines with belt-in-oil technology, the timing belt runs in an oil bath. This reduces friction, lowers CO2 emissions and ensures quieter engine operation. The belt’s service life is heavily influenced by the quality and type of engine oil – low-grade oils can result in premature wear. However, it is difficult to assess the condition of the timing belt visually.
The BIO TOOL offers automotive professionals a quick, easy and reliable means of checking the timing belt with the belt still fitted. It works by measuring the belt width and comparing it against the limit value specified by the manufacturer. If the belt is too wide, it needs to be replaced.
