Out of control? Water pumps without a control unit

Oops, isn’t there something missing? You might well think so when you first take our WP6145 water pump out of its packaging, as there is no control unit on top of it. But don’t worry, there’s a very good reason for this. “When you remove the old water pump, its control unit is usually still completely intact. You just undo three screws to take it off then it can be simply reused,” explains product manager Kai Klapproth. “So we’re now not fitting an additional control unit on some models.” This brings two valuable benefits: 

• Cost efficiency: workshops and their customers only have to pay for what the car actually needs. 
• Sustainability: the valuable resources in the control unit are reused instead of being thrown away. 

The WP6145 model is available both individually and as part of a timing belt kit with water pump. This can be used by mechanics for over 2.2 million vehicles on the European market, such as the 2018 Tiguan 1.5 TSi. 

No to a control unit, but yes to a guarantee
