The electrification of vehicles also opens up new fields of application for drive belts
One of these is electric power steering. Here, belts enable super-precise steering commands with minimal noise – even under significant fluctuations in temperature. Drive belts therefore play a key role in what is probably one of the most sensitive areas of vehicle technology. Already today, the first cars are being fitted with steer-by-wire technology. And demand for steering belts is set to increase substantially over the next three to four years; after all, the future of driving is fully electric and autonomous.

With the CT2000 and CT2001, we already offer steering belts for the replacement sector – in OE quality, as always. The short timing belts are fitted in various models from the Ford and Land Rover brands. And short timing belts can also be used in other areas of modern vehicle concepts, for example in braking systems with advanced levels of electrification (brake-by-wire), as well as door opening systems (smart doors) and urban transport systems.
